Book 5 - Banksy: The Man Behind the Wall

This book is about Graffiti, it talks about art in a bit of detail and what graffiti is about as an art by talking about specific pieces, I have decided on looking at this book because Graffiti is one of the biggest arts used to paint a message to day and it often put in public for people to look at and build their own understanding so that is why I wanted to look at this as a subject because this is a primary example of the concept I am looking at for research. This will potential provide me with a sense of direction because it will follows the theme of my idea very well.

Book 4 - Street Art & Graffiti Art: Developing an Understanding

http://scholarworks.gsu.edu/cgi/viewcontent.cgi?article=1049&context=art_design_theses

This is a PDF booklet developed by Georgia State University about graffiti art. I came across this when researching books that talk about art communication this looks at building a understanding around street art and how it communicates I can use this to help because its based on a general understanding of someone else, I can use this to build an understanding for my self and also use it to help me look at communication in a bigger light.

Book 3 - Art Education 11-18: Meaning, Purpose and Direction

I am finding hard to search for books relating to my chosen subject of communicate mainly because it   most books do not highlight communication in detail, a lot of the previous books I have looked at just talk about art pieces produced by a particular artist. My aim is to find books which talk about percific characteristics which make a piece of work communicate how it does to the general public or the world.

I chose this book because, realise from looking through it, that it talks more in detail about reasons why art pieces communicate and what particular mediums they may use to try to convey a message. based on this valuable information this will be useful for me during my up and coming project because it will allow me to understand more about the means of communicate and could help me put this into play when working on my idea.

Book 2 - Yusuke Nakamura Now

I was searching through many potential books I could use for research and came across this one, I thought about how I could use this for this up and coming project. The reason why I have chosen this book is because of the images provided, it does not communicate through words, just visuals, it is based on an artist called Yusuke Nakamura a popular worldwide known Japanese illustrative artist, from looking at the snippets in his book I have noticed that he uses a lot of colour to illustrate his piece and images which any person looking at his work would have to piece together to make sense of. This is a primary example of idea I want to come up with, it is too early to say but roughly along these lines. I will use this book to help me by analysing its content (images) and potentially write down the feeling it makes me feel and analyse the use of colours, these methods colour be late on applied to my final piece.

Book 1 - Illustrations Now

I have been looking around for books which could link to my chosen subject, this book alone is all about popular illustrations and the artist who made them The reason for picking this book was because It has various pieces developed by different artist and would provide me with key information on who created them, why and what for. Looking at this book will give me a little understanding as to what intentions some artist have when creating art communicative artistic piece. Reading this book also will give me few ideas for a type of artistic style I could follow when developing my final idea.
